For Adelphi University, I was so fortunate enough to interview Julia, who was super generous and took the time to write some super helpful responses for students interested in applying to Adelphi. I recommend you check out her responses! Thank you so much Julia!

How would you describe the weather at Adelphi? Does it frequently snow? What clothes would you advise students to bring upon arrival?

"When you start adelphi in August  the weather is still super warm so when you arrive you’ll most likely see student still in their summer attire but in New York the whether is frequently changing so be prepared with a winter coat and boots for the winter. "

What are the best majors and programs at Adelphi university?

"I started at Adelphi as a nursing major. Their program is amazing if that’s what you really want to do in life but I realized that nursing wasn’t for me and I switched to the communications department and my new major is production and cinema studies. Adelphi offers so many clubs and activities for students to get involved such as Greek life, future teachers association, dance club, arts empower Adelphi and literally a million more."

How would you describe the size of the classes? Is a big like 100-200 students in each class or relatively small around 20-40 students?

"The sizes of the classrooms vary. The largest classroom I’ve been in had about 35 students. The typical amount is 20-30 in a class. It’s very intimate, the Professor will know your name and you’ll know your classmates."

How would you describe the work at Adelphi? Is it rigorous or is it more relaxing and you have time to go out with friends?

"For my major, I personally don’t feel like I have an excessive amount of Work. I think the professors are very fair with the amount of work they give and when they make it due."

Why did you choose Adelphi? Was it your first choice?

"Adelphi was not originally my first choice but when I attended accepted students day and saw how beautiful the campus was and how nice everyone is I knew that’s where I needed to be. I live only 15 minutes away and I don’t even feel like I’m on Long Island when I’m at school. I’ve made so many new friends that I know I’ll have for a lifetime. I’m so lucky to be at Adelphi."
