For NYU, I was lucky enough to interview to volunteer the wonderful Catherine! She was so helpful and so so generous! I would recommend you to check out her responses if you're interested in NYU! Thank you so much Catherine!

How would you describe the workload? Do students study at home during the weekends or go out and relax with their friends?

"The workload and type of work are going to vary across the different majors. Since I am a film major, I try to get most of my work done on the weekdays to free up my weekends for projects and film sets. However, when I'm not doing so, I go out with my friends. There are so many different things to do around the city!"

What is your major and why did you choose this major?

"I am a film & television major at the Tisch School of the Arts. I chose this major because I love telling stories and I've been creating art all my life.

What inspired you to work hard to strive to get into NYU?

"I always strived for good grades in high school, but I also prioritized extracurricular activities and leadership opportunities. However, most importantly, I focused on film because I knew that was what I wanted to go to school for. Being the top film school in the nation, I had to put in that extra effort to get here. What motivated me was my end goal of creating movies and telling the stories that need to be heard/represented on the big screen."

What do you think makes NYU unique?

"NYU stands out from all other colleges because we don't have a campus. There's a tremendous amount of independence you get from living and studying in the city. Sometimes I don't even feel like I'm going to school!"

Are you from New York or out of state? How does this affect your financial aid?

"I'm from California so I'm far ways from home. Financial aid at NYU isn't the best if I'm going to be completely honest. They have some academic scholarships but I think that's it. It's definitely one of the pricier schools."
