For Southern Utah University, I had the opportunity to interview Bri, who provided some amazing responses in gaining insight into college life at SUU! Check out her responses down below! Thank you so much Bri! - Dayanna

What is your major and why did you choose this major

"I’m an interdisciplinary major. I chose it because I didn’t feel like there was a major for what I wanted to do, so this gave me the ability to create my own."

How would you describe the weather at SUU? Does it frequently snow? What would you advise students to bring when coming to SUU?

"The weather in cedar city is basically the same as salt lake, just a little less snow. It snows a little less, but for snow lovers, there’s a ski resort less than an hour away. A lot of things haha! I would advise students to look at blog posts that are along the lines of “what to bring to college” or “what to bring to your dorm”, but if you enjoy the outdoors, we have plenty of things to do so i’d bring camping/outdoorsy stuff on top of school stuff if that’s something you enjoy.

Do students use any on-campus tutoring programs or writing centers?

"Yes! We have a free tutoring center and writing center. I have used both and they have saved my life haha!"

how many reading and writing is required in your courses?

"So far, during my associates, I had very little writing required until getting to my english class, But besides that it’s been very little. There’s been a decent amount of reading, but much less than I expected, overall the workload has been much easier than I expected."
