For UGA, again, thank you so so much Sally for introducing me to one of her good friends, Tylan! His responses were amazing and definitely very beneficial for anyone planning on applying to UGA or going this year (Class of 2024)! Thank you Tylan and thank you Sally (thanked her more than 100 times lol but still going to continue)!

How would you describe the workload? Do students study at home during the weekends or go out and relax with their friends?
"I would describe the workload as different from a transitional standpoint. Coming from high school you’re used to going to school everyday all day and the teachers are there to remind you of assignments, test, etc. but in college it’s different because you literally get a syllabus and it’s up to you to do the work on time and study. Also classes don’t meet everyday so there’s way more time to waste which makes it easier to slack off. From a UGA specific standpoint it really depends on what your major is and how high up in the major you are. Because the Bio, chem, and calc classes are SUPER hard but other things like literature, history etc aren’t that bad. Students at UGA study in the dorms or on campus if they do study, but if not they are either downtown or at a party on weekends lol."
What is your major and why did you choose this major?
"My major is music education. I chose this major because after doing four years of band in high school I found that I was happiest when I was with other band kids watching every one motivate each other and grow as people. So I figure I wanted to replicate that experience from a teacher standpoint."
What do you think makes this school unique?
"I think what makes UGA unique is that there are so many people state-wide and globally who care about the school and what it means to be a Dawg. Certainly anywhere you go in Georgia there will be uga paraphernalia and I just feel like the uga community is larger than life. Also, it’s the first public colleges created in America (skeptics say)."
What’s your favorite class?
"My favorite class right now would either have to be Trombone Choir rehearsal or voice class. Trombone choir is just awesome and with voice class it’s just cool to learn the fundamentals of building a great singing voice."
Are you from Georgia or out of state? How does this affect your financial aid?
"I am from Georgia lol and that means I get in state tuition which is cheaper than out of state tuition."
How would you describe your first-year experience at uga?
"I would describe my first year experience at UGA as a rollercoaster of high and higher! This is more so for first semester, but it seems like from the start there is just so much crazy stuff going on all the time! I mean I met/seen more famous people and idols of mine than I ever thought i would (Ryan Seacrest, Tom Holland, hershl walker, Vince Dooley, Joseph Alessi, demondrae Thurman, Christopher bill, etc to name a few) I’ve travel more in college than I have in my entire life, and I’ve met some of the most down to earth, genuine, and caring people ever! Honestly, aside from long hours of class and a few rough nights of studying and hard work, I feel like everything about my college experience has been good! (so far)"
What inspired you to work hard to strive to get into uga?
"I decided to attend UGA on a whim. I never thought I’d get accepted but I really hoped I did and when I did I was shocked. I didn’t get into the music school at first (which I later figured out was a precautionary measure not a lack of my ability) so I really just went to UGA because I knew I would want to be there even if my dream of pursuing music didn’t work out. It turned out it was the best decision I made."
