For FSU, I had the opportunity to interview Alina, an upcoming junior! She gave wonderful insight on student life at FSU. Thank you again Alina!
What major did you pick and why? Does your major require an independent study or capstone project?
What was your reaction when you opened your acceptance letter?
"I am a psychology major because I want to become a mental health therapist for children. The psychology major encourages you to join a research lab with one of the professors on campus. You need to complete an SIP (Scholarship in Practice) to complete your prerequisites."
"I was super excited to receive my acceptance letter online! When you open your acceptance you’re greeted with confetti and the fight song begins to play!"
What makes this school so special to you? Was it your first choice and your dream school?
"I love how beautiful FSU’s campus is, and how easy it is to get involved in different organizations/be a part of the community! It was my first choice and my dream school since my junior year of high school!"
Were you awarded financial aid? If yes, how would you rate the financial aid package given? Was it able to remove some financial pressure?
"I was awarded the Bright Futures Scholarship as well as a grant my freshman year. My sophomore year I was awarded a Federal Work Study. Both programs and the grant made my transition into the university easier."
What kind of classes would you highly recommend students to take in high school before going off to college?
"Take dual enrollment courses before going off to college! The extra credit saves you time, money, and allows you to take classes specific to your major more quickly!"
